The Belgian Warmblood Foal Auction has been recognized for more than a decade as one of the leading European foal auctions. It has been lauded internationally in numerous countries and continents. That is in large part due to the fact that our organization selects only top-quality Belgian foals from the best European bloodlines that have proven to produce international show jumpers.
The BWFA auction was founded in 2001 by a group of breeders who were also involved in the organization of the Open Flemish Foal Championship in Evergem. Spurred by the initiative of President Hubert Hamerlinck, a renowned leader with progressive ideas and a clear vision, our quality breeding program was developed.
The cornerstone for what has become today’s BWFA is a core concept that remains unchanged today: Select by quality, not quantity!
This basic concept has remained in place while the organization continues to grow, always evaluating and revising when necessary to attain the BWFA’s goal: to become an elite foal auction of unparalleled European excellence. That only became possible by affiliating with a partner like Alain Cloet and Gudrun Patteet, owners of the five star stable, Sea Coast Stables.
Image & quality
Quality is who you are and what you do; image is what people make of it. Both aspects are very important for an organization like BWFA. BWFA thinks long-term and therefore has built a solid reputation among its clientele, who returns regularly to make future purchases. Therefore, it is important to know what the sport demands and to adhere to the standards that define the quality reflected in our foal collection.
The Belgian Warmblood Foal Auction (BWFA) has a long history as a respected organization in which quality is paramount. Dedication to top quality standards has enhanced the positive image we enjoy internationally today. Because we also understand that popularity is not necessarily an indication of quality, we are constantly working behind the scenes to improve our organization and our communication outreach efforts.
